Accountant Internship
At C.K.L.S Finance Plc, the Accountant Internship provides an immersive experience into the financial backbone of our institution. This role is designed for detail-oriented individuals who want to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practice. Interns will assist our finance department in maintaining the high standards of accuracy and transparency that define our corporate governance.
Core Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping Support: Assist in recording daily financial transactions and maintaining general ledger accounts in accordance with institutional standards.
- Voucher Preparation: Help prepare and verify payment vouchers, ensuring all expenditures are backed by appropriate supporting documentation and approvals.
- Bank Reconciliation: Support the monthly reconciliation of bank statements with internal records to identify and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Tax Compliance Assistance: Assist the accounting team in preparing basic tax-related documentation and ensuring compliance with local financial regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of weekly and monthly financial summaries, including balance sheets and expense reports for departmental review.
- Asset Management: Help maintain the fixed asset register, assisting with the tracking and periodic auditing of company property and equipment.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Academic Background: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional qualification like CAT or ACCA (in progress).
- Technical Proficiency: Basic understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/Local Standards) and familiarity with accounting software or advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to spot trends, errors, and inconsistencies within large sets of financial data.
