C.K.L.S Finance Plc is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Deputy Branch Manager to support the leadership and operational excellence of our branch network. This role is designed for a high-performing professional who combines strong credit expertise with the ability to manage teams and drive community engagement. You will work closely with the Branch Manager to ensure that our financial services are delivered with efficiency, integrity, and a focus on our institutional mission.
Role Purpose
The Deputy Branch Manager assists in overseeing all branch functions, with a primary focus on credit portfolio quality, staff supervision, and operational compliance. You will play a key role in implementing the 5Cs and 4Rs frameworks at the branch level, ensuring that loan growth is balanced with meticulous risk management and superior customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Assist the Branch Manager in supervising daily operations, ensuring that all activities comply with institutional policies, NBC regulations, and ESG standards.
- Credit Portfolio Management: Review and verify credit appraisal reports submitted by Loan Officers. Ensure the disciplined application of the 5Cs (Character, Capacity, Capital, Collateral, Conditions) before recommending approvals.
- Arrears & Recovery Management: Lead the branch’s efforts in managing non-performing loans. Implement the 4Rs (Re-payment, Rehabilitation, Re-scheduling, Re-phasing) to support clients and maintain a healthy Portfolio at Risk (PAR).
- Staff Supervision & Mentoring: Provide direct guidance and training to Credit Officers, Cashiers, and administrative staff. Foster a collaborative environment focused on professional growth and high performance.
- Business Development: Support the branch in achieving growth targets by identifying new market opportunities and building strong relationships with local community leaders and stakeholders.
- Customer Service Excellence: Act as a secondary point of contact for complex client inquiries or grievances, ensuring that all customers are treated with respect and professional care.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare weekly and monthly branch performance reports, analyzing credit trends and operational efficiency for submission to the Head Office.
- Internal Control: Monitor branch security protocols and cash management procedures to safeguard institutional assets and prevent operational errors.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in credit operations or branch management within the microfinance or banking sector.
- Technical Expertise: Proven mastery of credit appraisal techniques, risk assessment, and debt recovery strategies.
- Leadership Ability: Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate teams and manage diverse personalities.
- Integrity: A commitment to the highest ethical standards, transparency, and professional accountability.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret branch financial data and market trends to make informed operational decisions.
- Language & Tech: Proficiency in Khmer and English; advanced skills in Microsoft Office and experience with Core Banking Systems (CBS).
